Multi masking is the latest skin care trend that you may have heard about, so we thought we would have a bit of fun at our Naked Beauty Bar and create our own! Multi masking makes it possible to target several skincare concerns at the one time - like an oily t-zone and puffy eyes - just like a beauty therapist would do during a facial. So what we have created for you is a DIY facial, featuring beautiful pure Australian clays and powders. Nancy, our product formulation extraordinaire, has created three recipes for you. These three recipes make enough for two applications of each mask. So, multi mask with a friend, or pop the remainder into small glass lip balm jars to use next time. Start with clean, dry skin, then get your ingredients and utensils together. You will need:
-
Clays and powders: Australian green clay, bentonite clay, seaweed powder, yellow clay, pink clay and white kaolin clay
- Purified water
- Three small bowls (not metalic)
- A spoon (not metalic)
- An old makeup brush to apply (we used an EcoTools foundation brush)
DIY Multi Masking - Make Your Own Clay Mask At Home!
Target oiliness, clogged pores and blackheads
Bentonite and Australian green clay are the super powders that will work wonders on an oily t-zone. This mask controls oiliness, and works to cleanse pores, banish blackheads and draw out impurities.
Ingredients
Method Mix ingredients together in a small bowl. Brush this mask onto your forehead, chin, nose and creases of the nose, where it will work to gently cleanse congested pores and control excess sebum.
Target dry, devitalised and tired looking skin
For dry, devitalised and tired looking skin, the uplifting and brightening seaweed powder combined with Australian yellow clay will nourish and hydrate.
Ingredients
Method Mix ingredients together in a small bowl. Brush this mask onto your cheeks, where it will work to gently exfoliate dead skin cells.
Target puffiness and dark circles around the eyes
Pink clay is hydrating and skin firming, and will work to give your eyes a natural lift.
Ingredients
Method Mix ingredients together in a small bowl. Gently brush this mask under your eyes, concentrating on the lines and puffy areas that need extra attention. Leave the three masks on until completely dry (approximately 10-15 minutes) and then rinse with warm water and a face washer. Pat dry and follow with a toner or hydrating mist, and natural moisturiser. Enjoy your new glow!
